Our story

Shutter Governance isn't new technology looking for a use.

It has already protected hundreds of thousands of private, verifiable votes for digital communities, and now it's ready for institutions.

Chapter One

It started with Shielded Voting.

For nearly four years, our first product, Shielded Voting, has quietly protected voting for over 800 digital communities around the world, known as decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). In that time it has run more than 370,000 private votes, with zero errors across every single one.

It became the most widely used platform of its kind.

Chapter Two

Then came Shutter Governance.

We took that foundation and added new cryptography, homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs, so every ballot stays private forever while anyone can check that the final result is correct.

Today, Shutter Governance is ready for the councils, universities, unions, and public institutions that need it.

What we stand for

Voting should be better than a black box.

Most voting today asks you to trust it. You can't see how the votes are counted, and you have to trust that whoever runs the system manages it honestly and securely, with no chance of a leak. We believe you can do better: build it so it isn't even possible to see how anyone voted, while anyone can still check the result. Getting this right matters for democracy itself.

Open by default

Everything we build is open source. If you can't inspect it, you can't fully trust it.

Private and verifiable

Your choice stays secret, and anyone can confirm the result is correct. Both at the same time.

In service of democracy

We believe this technology can genuinely improve how the world votes, and that's the reason we build it.
